Description
In our increasingly data-centric world, converting images into knowledge is a challenge across various scientific fields. Acknowledging the immense possibilities of this drive to visualise and understand data, the FAIR Image Analysis Workflow working group is developing FAIR image analysis workflows within the Galaxy platform. Although the Galaxy platform is well-established in scientific fields like genomics and proteomics, its potential still needs to be explored in the imaging domain to both experts and citizen scientists. Initiated in the summer of 2023, our objective has been to integrate popular image analysis tools into Galaxy and annotate them with EDAM Bioimaging ontology terms to enable the creation of reusable FAIR image analysis workflows. Our mission is to promote FAIR, reproducible image analysis workflows, and we invite all interested parties to join our monthly discussions and participate in our decision-making process. As we prepare for the 2024 I2K conference, we are eager to share our progress with the broader imaging community; in which we will showcase our vision, accomplishments, and future plans in this journey of transforming images into knowledge.
